English

You are all professional students by now.  You have at least nine years of experience in the classroom, and you should all know what is expected of you.  My rules are common-sense ones, and I expect that you’ll have no trouble following them.

RULES:

  1. When the bell rings, be in your seat.  When you are tardy, you cause the class to fall behind. Be here on time.
  2. Do nothing to hinder the learning process.  This includes, but is not limited to, the following examples:
    1. Talking while Mrs. Ross is talking/talking out of turn
    2. Leaving your seat without permission
    3. Creating a disturbance/distraction during class
    4. Refusing to work
    5. Cheating
    6. Coming to class unprepared (no homework, book, writing utensil, etc.)
  3. Respect yourself and others.  Because I care about each of you, I will not tolerate the following:
    1. Teasing or taunting others
    2. Inappropriate touching of others
    3. Destroying your own property or the property of others
    4. Inappropriate language or behavior directed toward others

IF YOU CHOOSE TO BREAK A RULE, this simple procedure will occur:

First Offense:      Warning.
Second Offense:15 minutes after school on Thursday
Third Offense:   Report sent to office.  30 minutes after school. Parents called.
Fourth Offense: Report sent to office. 1 hour detention. Parents called.
Fifth Offense:      Student sent to office immediately.  Admin. takes action.
***Consequences will also apply if a PHS rule is broken in class.***

IF YOU CHOOSE TO FOLLOW THE RULES, you will be respected in this classroom.  I want each of you to succeed in English.  Following the rules will help you to excel.  You can expect the following things (and more!) when you follow the rules in this classroom:
