PORTLAND ATHLETIC HALL OF FAME

The Portland Athletic Boosters Alumni Committee adopted criteria and considerations for election to the Portland Public Schools Athletic Hall of Fame to ensure fairness of selection, for future reference and uniformity. The nomination deadline for this year is April 1, 2006.

The Portland Athletic Hall of Fame will include individual, team and honorary recognition categories. Except for good cause, nominees will be eligible for selection five (5) years after their graduating class.

Election to the Portland Athletic Hall of Fame requires past, direct involvement with Portland Athletics. Considerations include, but are not limited to, Athletic achievement; Individual recognition (All Area, District, Regional, State, American, etc.); Character; Overcoming special circumstances (inspirational); Contributions to the team; Scholastic, Community Service; Professional and Service Accomplishments; Other Honors and Awards; Professional or Amateur Career.

The Portland Public Schools Athletic Hall of Fame Dinner is in October, TBA.

Nominees not inducted will be kept on file for future consideration.
