Welcome to Fifth Grade!!!

Hello!  I am looking forward to meeting all of you!  I hope you had some time to play and enjoy spending time with your family.  The summer vacation sure has gone quickly.  I did some camping and spent time with family.

You will be part of the Seal/Janetzke team this year.  Mr. Kyle Janetzke will come into our room to teach science while I teach social studies to his class.    I am very excited about working as a team again this year.

I am sure you are wondering what you should bring to school with you on the first day.  Get what you can for the first day of school, but don’t “freak out” if you don’t have everything.  These are just the basics.  Other things are optional.

q           Two 1” 3-ringed binder for your Writing Journal and to hold your math material – extra three ring binders or organizers are not needed and sometimes do not fit into student desks well.

q           5 folders with pockets – red, blue, green, yellow and purple

q           4  1-subject spiral notebooks – matching folder colors if possible

q           Flash drive (optional, but will come in handy for middle school too).

q           2 boxes of Kleenex

q           A box of colored pencils, crayons and markers

q           scissors

q           A glue stick

q           Ink pens – blue for writing assignments; red, green or purple for checking assignments

q           Six or so pencils

q           A water bottles with covers (If they are not a distractions to others)

q           A picture of yourself and an object that tells something about you that you could share with the class.

I am very excited about meeting you all soon.  Some of you I already know, but I am looking forward to getting to know you better.  Bring a smile and an attitude that says, “I’m willing to try!”  If you or your parents have any questions, you can call the school or email me.

See you SOON!

Mrs. Seal
