Mental Health Advisory Board

The Mental Health Advisory Board (MHAB) was established by the Portland Public Schools Board of Education to support the district’s ongoing commitment to student mental health and well-being. The MHAB brings together parents, staff, students, community members, and local partners to review student mental health needs, identify available resources, strengthen community partnerships, and provide recommendations to the Board of Education and district administration.

The MHAB serves in an advisory role and does not make decisions on individual student matters. Its work is focused on districtwide systems, supports, prevention efforts, and opportunities to improve access to mental health resources for students and families.
