Angela Shinaver

Angela Shinaver joined the Board in January 2021 and currently serves as the president. Angela serves as the chairperson for the Program and the Personnel and Negotiation Committees and is a member Finance Committee. She completed level 3 of the MASB Certified Board Member program, earning the Award of Distinction and the Data Skills Specialty Certification. She is a lifelong Portland resident, a graduate of Portland High School, and is involved in other local organizations, the Portland Foundation for Public Education, school events, and enjoys volunteering at the elementary schools. Angela and her husband, Thomas, together have 5 children; her daughter and son are both PHS graduates. In addition, 3 of their grandchildren attend PPS. Angela is a Principal Audit Supervisor for a non-partisan audit office within the State of Michigan’s Legislative branch. She has a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree with a major in Accounting from Grand Valley State University.
