POSITIONS:       Latchkey Aide (multiple positions available)
LOCATION:        Oakwood Elementary School


Portland Public Schools’ seeks innovative and passionate individuals  who will provide a safe, fun, educational and creative environment for students attending the before and/or after school program as a Latchkey Aide. 

Qualifications:

  • In accordance with Michigan Child Care laws, at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to pass a Michigan Public Schools background check
  • Ability to pass a State of Michigan Licensing background check
  • Experience working with preschool and elementary age children
  • Either posses or willingness to posses the following training:
  1. CPR and First Aid Certified
  2. Proof of Bloodborne Pathogens Training
  3. Must be willing to complete 12 hours of training

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and support student(s) attending the before and after school program
  • Ability to apply rules in a consistent, fair, and positive manner.
  • Ability to be flexible
  • Serve as a role model for students 
  • Ability to cooperate and effectively communicate with parents and staff members
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Provide medical services as needed
  • Perform related duties as required


Position Details: 
● Title: Latchkey Aide
● Reports to: Latchkey Director
● Hours: 6:30am -8:45 am and 3:30pm-6:00pm 
● Compensation: In accordance with Latchkey pay scale
● Posting date: July 26, 2024
