Ultimate Outcome

A Contributor is not a single skill. It is who a Portland Learner becomes. It reflects our students’ ability to apply what they have learned to make a difference. A Contributor participates, collaborates, and leads with integrity. They apply mindfulness to create trust and inclusion, thinking to make informed decisions, problem-solving to act with purpose, communication to connect, and resiliency to persevere and see things through.

Being a Contributor means bringing value in all situations, whether to a team, a classroom, a project, or a community. It reflects the importance of participation, collaboration, and service. It’s about stepping up, supporting others, and going beyond what’s expected to make a difference. While it’s closely connected to community engagement, it also shows up in everyday moments, when students take responsibility, offer support, or lead with purpose.
